1. Introduction

To ensure that our furniture and other items arrive at our warehouse undamaged, we have established specific packaging requirements. These guidelines are designed to protect against the influences of the logistics process and ensure that each product remains safe and intact during transport and storage. Below are packaging instructions for sofas, mattresses, rugs, quilts, pillows, dog baskets and knockdown items. Please follow these requirements carefully to avoid damage and ensure the quality of our products.

2. Couches

  • Wrapped all around in corrugated cardboard.
  • Furniture itself wrapped in a plastic dust cover.
  • Additionally protect easily damaged parts such as corners, armrests, seats, wooden legs etc. with corrugated cardboard, the underside of the sofa should be protected by corrugated cardboard, see Figure 1.
  • Poly sleeve as outer packaging with a minimum thickness of 125 microns, see Figure 2.
  • The packaging may only be closed using 50 mm polypropylene tape.
  • The side on which the furniture stands is additionally protected with corrugated cardboard.
  • Use arrows on the packaging to indicate which side should be on top.

               

3. Mattresses and rugs

  • To prevent damage and dirt, use a poly bag with a minimum thickness of 125 microns for mattresses.
  • Box springs should be covered at the ends with a corrugated cardboard cap and wrapped in plastic with a minimum thickness of 125 microns (or similar
    quality). Indicate on the outside where the legs are packed.
  • For mattresses, place the barcode(s) on both long sides.

4. Duvets, cushions and dog baskets

  • To prevent damage and dirt, use a sealed poly bag or pouch with a minimum thickness of 60 to 80 microns. The scannable barcode sticker should adhere well to this
    stick properly.
  • Dog baskets, cushions and quilts do not need to be packed in boxes provided the packaging is closed. Multiple items may be packed in a carton or pallet box.
  • Pillows may be delivered rolled up or vacuum-packed if 3 products fit in a tote measuring 55 x 34 x 26 cm.
  • Items may be in “rectangular” cylinder bags, as well as rectangular bags, with flat lying handle. Handle facing upwards, so it can be easily picked from pallet box.
  • Items up to a maximum size of 60 x 50 x 30 cm and max 10 Kg are automatically sortable in the warehouse.

5. Knockdown articles

  • Items stand horizontally on custom pallets.
  • Article protection on the inside of the packaging.
  • Items should be protected on both short sides (preferably reinforced all around) of the packaging by polystyrene strips of sufficient thickness in relation to the package weight.
  • Corners should be protected with additional corner pieces on the inside of the package.
  • All empty space must be filled by fittings (polystyrene, cardboard or wood – marked as packaging). The individual parts of the article must be secured in the packaging in such a way that they cannot damage each other.
  • In addition, all assembly accessories should be packed in a well-sealed poly bag and secured by tape also in the box in such a place that
    no damage can occur to the other parts.
  • Mirrors, glass doors and components should be additionally protected by foam and/or bubble wrap.
  • Box type to be used: preferably FEFCO 409 and 201.
